You inspired us…

We learn so much from our patients and really appreciate how you share with us your opinions about your Treetops Patient Journey.  Throughout 2020 we received an abundance of positive reviews, especially about how our COVID 19 safety measures make you feel safe and well looked after.  You also shared with us how you appreciated the time the dentists and hygienists spent with you explaining and educating you about your dental needs and options, yet you expressed that sometimes you wished you could see more.

So, inspired by your feedback we set out to find how we could improve our visual communication.  The research we sourced categorically confirmed that introducing visual communication encouraged a deeper understanding for patients of their own dental needs and increased their overall patient journey as they felt more involved in their treatment options.  Furthermore, it was suggested that for most patients, visual aids significantly reduced patient anxiety.
We have taken action, we have installed intra oral cameras in each surgery in addition to new monitors.  These new visual aids coupled with our Itero Scanner has been given the huge thumbs up from patients.

The whole of the team is committed to continually improve your experience at Treetops.  We thank you for your loyalty, we value your feedback, and we all wish you a healthy and happy 2021.

Let’s get to know your friendly Reception Manager Kerrie

Name: Kerrie Walton

What is your job?

Reception Manager

How long have you worked at Treetops
16 years, It only feels like yesterday!

What was your very first job?
Retail ladies fashion

What did you want to do when you were growing up?
Air Stewardess, I did apply and got through to the final stages, unfortunately I had just flown out to Cyprus when the call came for me to go to the final interview, so I was unable to fly back in time. I missed the deadline by 1 day!

What is a typical day like?
It is busy, busy busy!!
The days seem to fly by! Even more so now with the new Covid-19 restrictions we have put in place, It is a different way of working now, having to use masks and not having the waiting room at the moment, but I feel the relationship between the staff and the patients is still the same regardless. Luckily our patients understand that we are keeping everyone safe so we can still chat and laugh like we always did, just now its from a distance. Our patients are so friendly so it makes all the changes a lot easier to deal with.

What’s the best thing about your job?
Getting to know all the patients over the years, they feel like family!  Some I have seen grow from children into adults and we now see their own children at the practice!  It’s lovely to see them grow.
Also I have the best colleagues ever, we really are like one big family, we all support each other, and are very close both privately and professionally.

What is the most challenging thing about your job?
Making sure patients can be seen in time when there are emergencies and fitting them in, the practice is very busy, especially at the moment due to the pandemic, everything now naturally takes longer, due to the fact each surgery has to be cleaned/sterilized and aired for a certain amount of time after each patient which slows things up a bit, but I think as a practice, we should be proud of how much we`ve all worked together to make sure we are still open and still keeping on top of patients appointments.

Do you have two favourite memories working at Treetops?
I have so many memories it is so hard to pick just two!

One of the memories that had such a huge impact on Treetops in my time, is the modernisation of the new building we are in today, it has completely changed from when I first started, not only with how it looks now, but with how reception functions.  I am sure the patients that have been with us for a long time will remember the old paper records we had before the computer systems were fitted, reception had mountains of folders we had to go through just to book a patient in, things have certainly changed for the better and our life on reception has got a lot easier!

I have so many good memories of the friends I have made here at Treetops, but the one I think stands out the most and is so special to me, is my partner in crime on reception with me (Linda) being Godmother to my daughter Erin, that was such a special day and being able to share it with a lady who I regard as a  friend as well as work colleague made it extra special.

Thank you Kerrie
